    Wow! Where did September go? We have had a very busy month as we settled into work and school routines. Our month started with a special celebration – Luke’s 8th birthday! We enjoyed a family party and then the day after his birthday, we hosted Luke’s Birthday Celebration Extrodinaire with Luke’s six second-grade classmates. The kids played lots of games, made crafts and enjoyed snacks and cake. It was very special!

    Vicar Draper seems to be doing more and more around church. He is teaching catechism twice a week, leading devotion for many groups (pioneers, church council, etc.) and doing shut in calls. His first sermon was great! He is enjoying the work very much.

    This month Stanley made me a “sports Mom” for the first time. He ran in three cross country track meets and did very well. His 1 mile time in the last meet with 8 minutes and 40 seconds. He also started band, and picked the french horn as his instrument. We are enoying hearing his practice. And he is back in piano lessons as well.

    Luke’s class had a field trip this month. They made three stops at a dairy farm, an apple orchard, and the local grocery store. He is doing well in class and enjoying all of his new friends. Luke is testing the banking reserves of the tooth fairy. He lost another tooth (currently missing three), and he has another one that is loose.

    Benjamin started piano lessons this month. He comes home from school each afternoon eager to get his piano practice done. Kindergarten is lots of fun for Ben. Each week they study a new letter and he takes a “show and tell” for the letter of the week.

    I (Sallie) have adjusted to working at home. Work is busy and challenging! Even so, I’ve found some time this month for reading, as we have the world’s greatest library here in Sun Prairie. I also have a few crochet projects and other crafts “in the works”. I was happy to “computerize” the track meet tabulation when our school hosted a meet on the 21st. I also managed to make it to PTO and Ladies Aid meetings this month.

    We send out special congratulations to Sallie’s nephew and neice-in-law, Zach and Wendy Byrd. They are proud parents of Layton Wilson Bryd, born yesterday. We hear he’s a fine fellow and can’t wait to meet him!

    Take a moment to enjoy some photos from the Drapers and don’t forget to come back next month for more news from the Wisconsin Drapers. God’s Blessings!

    What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8:31-32

    Based On:: Luke 10:17-20

    Victory is yours

    Do you remember the great victory Elijah had over the prophets of Baal? The false god, Baal, couldn’t even produce a spark to ignite the offering that was set up in his name, but when Elijah called on the Lord, fire rained down on the offering Elijah had prepared – even the stones were consumed. It was a tremendous victory, but soon after this Elijah was running to hide – afraid and depressed. Did he see the real victory? The victory God had won in the hearts of 7000 people in Israel who did not worship Baal? What about the disciples? They saw Jesus heal the sick, cast out demons, and even raise the dead. They saw the power Jesus had, and yet when Jesus was crucified, they hid behind locked doors. Did they see the victory Jesus had won for them? What about you? Do you see the victory Christ won for you? He destroyed Satan’s power over you and even gives you authority over Satan. This victory is yours both now and forever.
