    Rejoice! Our Savior is Born!!

Welcome back to the Draper’s Diary. We have had a wonderfully busy month full of beautiful church services, music, parties and other special events along with the joy of our family visiting. We are truely blessed!

Please take some time to explore our web site as we have posted many photos and several sermons from the Vicar.

We summarized our year in our Christmas card newletter:

Christmas greetings from the Wisconsin Drapers!

We want to wish each of you a wonderful Christmas that is focused on our savior Jesus’ birth, the true reason to celebrate this holiday!

2005 was an exciting year for our family. Our boys, Stanley (10 – 5th grade), Luke (8 – 2nd grade), and Benjamin (6 – Kindergarten) continue to amaze us as they grow. As a 5th grader, Stanley was able to participate for the first time in cross-country, Forensics, and band (playing French Horn). All of the activities were very rewarding for Stanley as well as the rest of us who get to watch. Luke’s reading skills skyrocketed this year. Origami is the other skill that he has faithfully developed this year. Mom is amazed at the things he can make with a few folds of paper. Benjamin started piano lessons this year and is making wonderful progress. His special talent is whistling which he practices all the time. He especially likes the fact that he is the only Draper boy who can whistle and reminds his brothers of it on a regular basis. 🙂

This year Kevin was transformed into a new person – the Vicar! We are all so proud to see him serving our Lord at Peace Ev. Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie, WI. We learned of his assignment to Peace in early April, and he began work here in August. He has learned so much from Pastor Luke Werre.

I, Sallie, continue to work for the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) at the administration building for our international church body. This year much of my time was dedicated to training employees on our technology systems – a task the “teacher in me” just loves! Both Kevin and I enjoyed working at this summer’s Synod Convention, putting much of the convention proceedings, including audio and video on the www.wels.net web site.

This year our travels took us to Camp Phillip and Branson, MO. We enjoyed visits with both sets of parents and a special visit from Brian and Oksana Diring who traveled to America from Ukraine in May. The boys especially enjoyed a two-week trip to Texas to Grandma and Papa’s Boot Ranch while Mom and Dad were in New Ulm, MN for the convention and then later moving our belongings from Milwaukee to Sun Prairie.

We continue to regularly update our family web site, The Draper’s Diary, and invite you to visit to read our latest news and all of Vicar’s sermons, view pictures, audio, and video:

God bless and keep you all secure in the life-giving faith in Jesus.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

God’s blessing on the remainder of your days in 2005. We’ll see you in 2006!
