As I pause to look back at this month, I’m overwhelmed by all that has happened in such a short time. July seems like it was ages ago. Since our July update we’ve moved and unpacked in our new (old) house. It didn’t take long to feel back at home again here. We were blessed overwhelmingly with tremendous people who helped us all along the way.

The Vicar’s last sermon was on August 8th. After church the congregation gave us a wonderful sendoff complete with a fun “roast” of the Vicar with a multiple choice quiz (how many answers do you know? Check your answers here!). Not to worry though, the Vicar lives on, as Kevin just accepted a Senior Vicar position in which he will preach once a month during this school year for First Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva!

The boys and Kevin are all back in school this week. It has been a smooth transisiton so far. Bejamin is excited to have his best buddy Andrew – son of another second career seminary family – in his class (1st grade). All three of our boys, plus the big guy have been busy with homework already.

I’ll close with a photo of our family on our last Sunday at Peace, Sun Prairie. God bless and keep you all!

    Goodbye to Vicar Draper

We are full of awe and gratitude at the protection that God gave to Kevin’s parent’s home in Texas. When they returned from their time in Wisconsin with us, they found that there had been a fire on their land which came very close to their home and barn. Firefighters sucessfully protected their home, and we are so very thankful. The fire started at a nearby neighbors home and spread to their protperty where it burned a significant amount of land and trees as well as the castle they had built for our boys this summer. Please join us in prayers of thanksgiving for the fact that their home & barn were spared!

Work is done on our Milwaukee home, and we can hardly believe the results!  What a blessing Kevin’s parents, Jack and Judy, are to us!!
