The Draper’s are back with all our latest news. It’s hard to believe how quickly October flew by. The weather in Wisconsin turned quite a bit cooler. We’ve even had a few snow flurries. I wonder what type of winter lies ahead??

Kevin is staying busy with school work, preaching and leading Bible class. Among other things, he is working on a big Church History paper and video presentation about our mission work in Indonesia. Assignment Day and Graduation are getting closer all the time. Kevin isn’t dwelling on those looming dates as much as others (including me) are, but just in case you are curious, Assignment Day is May 24th, and that is 204 days away (according to TimeAndDate.com). 😉

I (Sallie) am staying busy trying to balance work and home. I had the privilege of traveling to the Michigan Teachers Conference, held in Stevensville, MI, for a presentation in early October. Thankfully my boss drove us safely through Chicago! Not the place for this Mississippi girl to drive – for sure! It was great to have a quick visit with Janet Liebenow and Tony Perry – two teacher friends with Texas ties!

The boys and I have been listening to lots of good books on tape including Class Clown, Mr. Tucket (a western) and Dear Mr. Henshaw. We also still enjoy listening to our favorite family-friendly podcast – The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd – which just started it’s 5th season.

The boys keep us busy with homework, music practice & lessons, library time, swimming lessons and singing in church. We all continue to enjoy geocaching and have found a total of 50 caches, including 4 in October.

Kevin and I have enjoyed playing with Google Earth software. It gives you a satellite view of anywhere on earth. Very cool! I also found it interesting to explore the other Google offerings. Check out the items featured on the Google products page, including web-based shared calendaring, book searching, web-based word processing & spreadsheets, and more. And all for FREE!!

I guess that is enough news for now. Our boys brought home this year’s school pictures yesterday so you may have noticed that the Draper’s Diary banner changed. Another year older and cuter all the time! We’ll close with a look at their pictures from last year – one last time. Please read on for more news, photos and video from October.

God bless and keep you in his tender care!
