Please join me in celebrating my dear Daddy’s 81st birthday today.  Rayford “Pete” Wilson was born April 15, 1926.  He was a tax day baby before there even was such a thing!  Here’s a picture from the family celebration in Mississippi.  Wish we could have joined in the fun!

    Based On: Isaiah 53:4-6

See Your Savior on the Cross

Today we see our Savior on the cross, but to understand better what is happening on the cross let’s start in the Garden of Eden. There in the garden, God told Adam not to eat from a certain tree in the middle of the garden. “You may eat from any other tree but if you eat from this tree you will die.” Even though Adam and Eve knew God’s command they ate the fruit from that one tree. And what was the result? Death. The sprirtual death was immediate – their relationship with God was destroyed. Eventually their bodies would also die.

  • March 2007 Update

Posted on April 1st, 2007 Sallie No comments

I can tell that it’s April Fools Day as I’m writing my monthly update for March a day late. 😉 I guess that is appropriate because of the March madness at our house. The days literally flew by in March and everyone was extra busy with activities. Highlights include:

    • Swimming – All three boys are making tremendous progress in their lessons – jumping off the diving board and swimming to the side on their own!
    • School – All three boys had fantastic report cards for the third nine weeks. Stanley even made the 5th – 8th grade highest honor roll! Kevin’s count of projects and papers due is approaching zero. Yippee!
    • Work – Sallie went on a three-day trip to St. Louis to learn Shepherd’s Staff church management software. The hotel view of the near by St. Louis arch was AMAZING!
    • Extra-curricula – We took a fun tour of the Miller brewery – a “Milwaukee thing” we thought we should do before leaving. Stanley participate in a forensics meet, family music festival, and spring band concert. All three boys had art work in the school art fair. They also all sang in church at various times. Sallie enjoyed a weekend away at a women’s retreat and a fun night a Sem Gems.
    • 4Sale – Our house is officially on the market!
    • Count down – Only 53 days left to Call Day!!!

Visit our March Photo:365 Gallery for tons of pictures from this month’s events. And read on for many more photos, audio clips and videos from this busy month.

As we begin Holy Week our prayer is that your Easter celebration is full of joy in the risen Savior! We ask that you please continue to pray for Kevin’s classmate Jon who is undergoing chemo treatments.

As we begin this holy week, let us ponder the road which our Savior trod for us. We’ve posted audio of the Bethlehem Jr. Choir singing a beautiful hymn medley which reminds us clearly of our Savior’s passion.

Stanley competed in the Kettle Morraine Lutheran High School Forensics meet on March 20, 2007 and earned a blue ribbon for his solo acting of “Alexander Who Used To Be Rich Last Sunday”. We thought you might enjoy the video of his performance.
