Hello Draper’s Diary readers!  Here’s a quick recap of the events in our lives the last few months.

First, we have all been adjusting to Luke’s diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes.  He is doing quite well handling all the changes in his life since January 5, 2009 and we are working with the insurance company to get approval for an insulin pump for him.  We hope to soon be pumping with a MiniMed Paradigm 722 (miracle machine).  This will give Luke anytime control over his insulin and reduce the need to give 2 to 4 shots per day down to one stick every two to three days!

At church we have enjoyed several “special” Sundays including worship with MLC Men’s Choir and Unity Sunday/New Member Welcome.  It’s hard to believe the season of Lent is almost here!  Join us for worship via our Live Stream on the St. John’s web site – www.stjohnsse.com/live – Sundays at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

The boys have been working hard to get ready for the school play, “The Granny Awards”.  They will be performing on Parent’s and Grandparent’s Day (March 2 & 3) at 9:30 a.m. each morning.  Tune into the live stream site to join in the fun!

The temps have warmed up enough to melt away much of the snow and ice we were buried in during December and January.  The kids have even gotten to go outside for recess on a few days of February.  🙂  I’m not sure if they went outside at all during January.  Kevin’s parents, Jack and Judy, continue to settle in to their Sleepy Eye home and are enjoying having the boys over for sleepovers quite often.

I guess that’s all the news I can think of.  Hope all is well on your end of the wire.  Blessings from Lake Wobegone … I mean Sleepy Eye!
