Wednesday Factiod from Stanley #2
Posted on May 30th, 2012 1 commentMost of us see the sun every day. What most of us don’t realize is that the sun is so far away, it actually takes the light from the sun eight minutes to reach Earth. We see the sun as it was eight minutes previously. Applying this to the stars, we are actually seeing the stars as they were hundreds or even thousands of years ago. In fact, some of the stars in our sky might have already gone nova and no longer actually exist, but the light from them is still reaching us.

Wednesday’s Random Fact by Stanley
Posted on May 23rd, 2012 No commentsIn Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible“, which is based on the Salem witch trials, there is a character named Rev. John Hale. Rev. Hale is based on the real life person by the same name. His great grandson is Nathan Hale, the Revolutionary War hero who said “I regret that I have but one life to give for my country.” at his execution.

Pink … the Verb
Posted on May 22nd, 2012 No comments2012 has been the year of PINK in the Draper household.
But I don’t meant the sweet color. Nope, we’re talking the verb pink which means to pierce or punch (thinking PINKing shears). My boys, led by Luke, have taken pinking to mean poking and our lives are full of surprise pokes constantly.
In honor of this irritating tradition, we’ve declared today PINK haiku day. Here’s an Ode to PINK x5 Drapers.
Benjamin –
Red and white makes pink
Pink is very annoying
‘Cause my brother pokesLuke –
Pinking is poking
I like to pink my brother
Because he pinks backStanley –
Oh Luke, my brother
How I detest this pink thing
Which you inventedKevin –
Not only a noun,
Pink is also a verb.
Luke, stop pinking me!Sallie –
