Praise God from whom all blessings flow!  And, blessed we are.  Our boys are off to a good start in school.  Stanley is reading everything in sight – completing 6 chapter books this month at school and home! He is currently reading “The Hobbit” and has declared he wants to be an elf for Halloween. Luke’s first grade class is unbelievable!  He is doing incredible work.  The class does science notebooks, starting with a study of the ocean.  He did research work on the deep sea angler and his spelling bonus words include tentacles, anemone and narwhal!  Mom is learning along with him. Benny is happy with his daycare and preschool classes. All three boys are enjoying the YMCA, taking gymnastics and swimming lessons.

Kevin’s classes are proving to be challenging too. But he is enjoying them. We all celebrated the Seminary’s 75th anniversary at the Mequon location.  It was a neat day where we got to observe what a classroom in 1929 would have been like (taught in German with discussions about reaching out to English speaking people) and a classroom of today is like (complete with PowerPoint presentation and students with laptop computers). It is good to know that the training Kevin is receiving comes from such a long tradition.  While the teaching techniques have changed over the years, the Biblical truths that the men are taught have not changed one bit. The mission of the Seminary remains to teach men to “Preach the gospel”.

We will close this month with a prayer for the people who have been affected by the hurricanes that have wreked havoc in the Southern & Eastern US this month.  We have included some photos of Luke’s 7th birthday celebration.  You may download a short movie (5M – Quick Time format) of Luke on his birthday. God bless and keep you all, until next time!

Luke and his brothers enjoyed a pirate/tropical birthday complete with ice cream cone cupcakes.

A little help and a cheer as Luke opens his gifts.

Luke is such a builder!  He was happy with his new erector set. Here he is showing off his helicopter.
