    He is risen! With that message in mind everything else that runs in and out of this brain of mine seems small and insignificant. Bottom line – what matters isn’t my cleaver blog, photos and podcasts of my adorable kids, my exciting/challenging work, how far behind I am on housework and laundry or how much money is in my bank account. In the big picture that’s all pretty meaningless!!! What matters is Christ lived, died and rose for me and for you! May each of your days be filled with Easter joy!

    I Know That My Redeemer Lives

    I know that my Redeemer lives;
    What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
    He lives, he lives, who once was dead;
    He lives, my ever-living Head!

    He lives triumphant from the grave;
    He lives eternally to save.
    He lives all-glorious in the sky;
    He lives exalted there on high.

    He lives and grants me daily breath;
    He lives, and I shall conquer death.
    He lives my mansion to prepare;
    He lives to bring my safely there.

    He lives, all glory to his name!
    He lives, my Jesus, still the same.
    Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives:
    “I know that my Redeemer lives!”

    March 26, 2005 – Welcome back everyone to the Draper’s Diary on this Easter eve. We pray your celebration of our Savior’s payment for our sins and triumph over death is special this year.

    We are finishing up another busy month. The boys highlights this month include the Pioneer’s pine car derby (Luke got 8th place!!), report cards and spring break. They are always busy! Stanley continues to read lots of good books. He is currently competing in a class team reading effort. His team is called the “Speed Readers”, and Stanley has read 7 books for the team since starting three weeks ago. Luke’s class hosted a “Geology Jam” for the parents where they acted out all of the great things they have learned about the earth. Benjamin’s class went on a field trip to Build-a-Bear Workshop and made a class bear named Coalby (he’s black). We were happy to have Coalby visit our house for a few nights, but since it is winter, he seemed to do a lot of sleeping while he was here!

    Mom had a bit of a battle with strep throat and an allergic reation to the antibiotic that was prescribed. She also got to attend a three-day class at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (who’s baseketball team made it to the NCAA Sweet 16!) about developing training programs. Work continues to be challenging and fun, especially as we make preparations for this summer’s synod convention.

    Kevin spent the month busy with school work, including writing his last sermon of the semester. He will preach it next weekend at our church, and we will post the audio online on the DraperCAST. He is also involved in video preparations/testing for the synod convention. There is much to experiment with and learn about.

    We have made it our regular practice to record a weekly DraperCAST session and are having lots of fun doing it. Please check it out each week to hear the latest news from our house.

    We are excited that Kevin’s parents, Jack and Judy, will be visiting us beginning this Tuesday. They will be here for our DraperCAST recording sessions, to hear Kevin preach next weekend and for the much anticipated vicar assignment service, Thursday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. We’ll plan to send an e-mail with the news of Kevin’s assignment for the coming school year!

    Our lives were touched this week by a story of Tragedy & Joy, which you may want to read. Until next time, rejoice! He is risen! He is risen, indeed!
