  • Spring Recital

Posted on April 20th, 2009 Sallie 2 comments

Tonight Grandma, Papa and Mom enjoyed the Draper boys spring recital.  Dad was away at Pastor’s Conference so hopefully he can see the performances on the web.

Here Luke and Ben pose with their wonderful violin teacher, Paula Anderson.

And Stanley re-visted the site of one of his very first recitals so it called for a “Then and Now” comparison of 2002 and 2009 photos with his awesome piano teacher, Judy Martens.  What a difference!

We hope you enjoy the videos of their performances!

Benjamin plays Lightly Row, a Folk Song.

Stanley plays Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by J. S. Bach.

Today was the spring day for city-wide garage sales in Sleepy Eye and Stanley & Mom just had to hunt some bargins.  Luke & Ben were very glad we came home with a $2 lava lamp!

Stanley got a chair for his computer for $5.

And Mom scored the bestest deal – a huge assortment of rubber stamps for $19!! 🙂

We spent the evening completing a 500 piece puzzle which the boys received for Easter.  Lots of fun!

He is Risen!  We celebrated Easter with two special services this morning, loaded with special music and beautiful decorations.  And we couldn’t resist a few family photos among the lilies.

  • The Bunny

The boys and I enjoyed a fun project of decorating our annual favorite, the Easter Bunny cake.  This year Stanley put forth his best Spock effort at dying the coconut, thus the bright tropical blue bunny tie. 😀

  • Today’s Sermon – The Path to Glory

Posted on March 29th, 2009 Sallie No comments

The sermon for today has been posted on our Christ Insight web site, and a link appears in the upper right area of this page.  Rather than double posting the sermons, as we have done in the past, we’ll just provide the link here from now on.

You’ll want to check out today’s because for the first time we have embedded video of the sermon on the site as well!  We are slowly figuring out all the media types.  We’ve done audio for almost two years.  Now with the video streaming service we use to broadcast live (Ustream), we can also record all or parts of our broadcast.  Since the non-sermon parts of our broadcast are mostly copy written and cannot be redistributed, we only record the sermon.  But that’s the best part anyway!

Here’s a look at the sermon to get you started.

Now head over to this link to read, watch and/or listen to God’s Word!!

Playing catch up with some month-old video of the kids in the school play, The Granny Awards.  Stanley played the award show emcee, Prof, and Luke has a song solo as best male vocalist winner, Jack in the Beanstalk.  It was all lots of fun!  Photos are posted on the school web site.

  • Science projects

Benjamin and Luke had space related science projects due in school this week.  Ben’s topic was the Hubble Space telescope and we found an impressive model online which he and his dad worked on for 4 or 5 hours.  It turned out awesome!  Luke did a cool poster on Saturn, complete with very impressive paper scrap rings.

  • My get away

Posted on March 28th, 2009 Sallie No comments

We have made several improvements to our master bedroom recently including turning a corner into my crafting area using a cool shelving system I got for Christmas.  We also recently purchased new bedding, a needed update after many years with our old set.  I’m loving it and sneak away upstairs whenever I get the chance!
